Air Europa is a Spanish airline that controls businesses from its home base in Madrid. Most of the fleet is stored and maintained in Madrid. Targeting vacationers traveling to the south of Spain for its warm weather and pristine beaches, the airline flies to the remote Balearic and Canary Islands. Flights to more than 25 countries are available, and long flights to South America and North America are some of the key services.
Joining the SkyTeam alliance in 2007, the airline offers more connecting flights and departure times than before. Some of the major airlines it has partnered with as part of the alliance are China Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Air France and Korean Air. There is also a regional subsidiary, Air Europa Express, which focuses on local flights within Spain.
By downloading the Air Europa On the Air app before the flight, passengers can stream their content from personal devices such as mobile phones and tablets directly to the provided entertainment screens. Special menus are available on transatlantic flights that are free of 14 basic food allergens such as nuts, grains, eggs, milk and fish.
Air Europa uses a combination of Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Most of the fleet consists of wide-body twin-engine aircraft, such as the Boeing 787 series. A few of the planes are painted in a dark gray SkyTeam alliance design, and there is a Boeing 737 that pays special homage to Argentina's Iguazú Falls.
