Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, is famous for its mix of modern and traditional architecture. The city has an interesting structure where modern buildings from the Soviet era and historical buildings are located side by side. Important buildings in Tashkent include the Monument to Amir Timur, Kukeldash Madrasah and Tashkent Fortress. Tashkent City Centre is one of the most interesting tourist destinations in Central Asia.
